He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Shelby Rumfield and Leta Rumfield; his brother Ricki Lee Rumfield; his spouse Laverne Rumfield of Temple; his sons, Jeffery Shayne Rumfield (Stacie Rumfield) of Troy, Toby Lance Rumfield (Kari Rumfield) of Denton and Justin Brock Rumfield (Crystal Rumfield) of Plano; his sister Velvet Kay Rumfield of Temple; and his grandchildren, Jeff of Zach, T. J., Justin, Ava and Reese.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes in honor of Coach Shelby.
