He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mathu Patil and Prabha Patil; his wife Saroj Patil; his children, Dr. Sam Patil, Prabhakar "Pakki" Patil and Dr. Sarla Patil; his son-in-law Vishe Muni; and his granddaughters, Asha Patil and Shreya Muni.
