He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charlie Ellis and Mary Lee Watson Ellis; his daughter Tina Ellis; his siblings, Gerry Buck, Robbie, Melvin and Lawrence (Ole Red); his wife Wanie; his grandchildren, John, Skyler Ellis of Lubbock, Richard, Megan Ellis of Belton, Jenna, Scott Stephens of Belton and Evan Ellis of College Station; his great grandchildren, Riot, Nixon and River; and his grandchildren, Nancy Maria, Janette, Isaias, Angela, Jasmin, Samantha and Joshua.
