He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Vest and Gladys Vest; his wife Ethyl "Shorty" Vest; and his siblings, Gerald Vest, Bobby Ray Vest and Maclou Vest Scott.
He is survived by: his children, LaTonya Oilvier of Georgetown, Jimmy Vest of Austin, Terre' Slima (Edward) of Falfurrias and Heather (Larry) of Smithville; his stepbrother Timothy Vest of Texas; and his stepson O. G. Copeland of Belton, Texas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
