She was predeceased by: her parents, Smith Brooks and Eldie Brooks; her son Gary Barrett (Dick Barrett); and her siblings, James Brooks and Oleeta Pedreira.

She is survived by: her granddaughter Laura Lee Mercado; her great grandchild Jessica Mercado; her niece Ruth Barrett Ellis (Charles) of Brookshire; her sister Faye Bradley of Bellville; and also Sue Grady (Art) of Chandler.
