He was predeceased by: his parents, Frieda Irene Welsh (Haas) and Francis Welsh; his brother Stephen Welsh; his stepmother Marjory Welsh; his grandson Joseph Stone; his great grandchildren, J. J. and Lily Poffenberger; his siblings-in-law, Elson Miller, Dixie Deal and Carol Malone; and his nephews, Larry Don Deal and Daniel Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Welsh of Bellville; his children, Elizabeth Diann Poffenberger (Danny) of Bellville, Ilena Ruth Szymanski (Cowboy) of Bellville, Connie Jo Cantu (Richard) of Bellville and Michael Robert Welsh of Friendswood; his grandchildren, Jerrod Poffenberger (Misti), Marcus Poffenberger (Carrie), Shalena P. McPartland (Mark), Travis Stone, Mwana Stone, Jacob Welsh, Katie Krupala and Amanda Thompson (Dave); his great grandchildren, Stewart, Caroline Poffenberger, Lanie, Daniel Ashriel Poffenberger, Layla Stone and Austin McPartland; his sister Margaret Miller; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Welsh, Lawrence Deal and Earl Malone. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
