Hernandez; his daughter-in-law Heather Hernandez of Bryan; his daughters, Mariela Hernandez of Houston and Teresa Ortega; his son-in-law Oscar Ortega of Spring; his daughter Lorena Hernandez; his son-in-law Mike Kowis of Spring; his granddaughters, Nevaeh Hernandez and Gisselle Ortega; his siblings, Antonio Hernandez of Bellville, Maria Cardona of Dallas, Guillermina Perez of Arkansas, Hector Hernandez of Bellville and Juan Hernandez of Killeen; and his mother-in-law Margarita Garcia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
