She was predeceased by : her parents, Athanasia Mildred and Leonard Schmidt; her grandmother Griffith; and her children, Cindy Jo Mitchell and James Frank Carl II.

She is survived by : her siblings, Margaret Wright (Elgin), Stephen Schmidt (Lisa), James Schmidt (Cindy), Carpentersville of Illinois, David Schmidt (Cindy) and Centralia of Illinois; her children, Theresa Arocha (Richard), Bellville of Texas, Jolen Godlewski (Edward), Woodstock of Illinois, Suellen Wenzel (Kenneth), McHenry of Illinois, Kristine VanLaningham, Kirksville of Missouri and Scott Van Den Bosch; and her grandchildren, Sara, Lisa, Eddie, Ryan, Katrina and Michael.
