She was predeceased by: her parents, Norris Banks and Lydia Banks (Garcia); her children, Vanessa Vela and Antonio "Tony" Calderon; and the father of her children Benito "Benny" Vela.

She is survived by: her daughter Xiomara Steinberg Vela; her grandchildren, Niedra Steinberg Vela (Anthony Branker), Christa Brower (Jeremy) and Jacob Pereira; her great grandchildren, Naviah Rose Steinberg Cortinas, Eva Estelle, Elle May of Jacob, Robert Lance and Charlotte Adielle Brower; and also, Tamme Bonham, Robert Cortinas, Kathy Pereira and Isaac Branker.
