He was predeceased by: his parents, Urbano Benitez and Marcelita Urrutia Benitez; his spouse Elosia Montemayor Benitez; and his siblings, Francisco Benitez, Luciano Benitez, Victoria Dominguez, Soledad Zuniga and Ramona Saenz.
He is survived by: his daughters, Delia Madrigal of Beeville, Santos Suniga of Beeville, Marcela Guerrero of Beeville, Rafaela Cuevas of Beeville, Esmeralda Trevino of Beeville, Estella Rojas and Debra Sanchez of Victoria. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 53 great-great grandchildren.
