He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ellsworth and Mary Ann Handy (Hicks). He is survived by: his wife Jerri Handy (Mangrum); his daughter Jennifer Bernal (Joseph) of Beeville; his stepchildren, Dawn Kline of Somerville and Shane Thompson (Shelly) of Rockwall; his grandchildren, Blake and Bailey Bernal; his stepgrandsons, Jacob, Joshua Trevino, Levi and Tyler Thompson; and his siblings, Robert Handy (Chris) of Skidmore and Melissa Cherry (Douglas) of Beeville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Texas Children's Home.
