He was predeceased by: his parents, Santiago Artiaga, and Dolores Artiaga, Sr. (Anzaldua); and his brothers, Carlos Gonzales, Larry Anzaldua and Santiago Artiaga, Jr..

He is survived by: his daughter Nicole Artiaga Rodriguez (Jesus) of Beeville; his grandsons, Francisco "Frank" Cano of Beeville and Joe Anthony Arteaga of Beeville; his brother Juan Arteaga (Cynthia) of Beeville; his grandchildren, Alejandra Trinidad Gomez, Analeeze Graciela Gomez, John Gabriel Benavidez, Jr., Raul Lee Benavidez, Luis Espinosa, Frankie Cano, Jr., Jace Cano and Grayson Cano; and his friend Barbara Cano (NiNi).
