He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzie Chandler and Leila Mae Howard (Harvey); his brother Elzie Jr.; and his daughters, April Howard Hall and Elizabeth Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Howard (Olson) of Beeville; his children, Lewis Howard Jr. (Juana) of Kingsville, Chris Howard (Krista) of Rigby and Suzanne Short (Kerry) of Rexburg, Idaho; his brother Glenn Howard of Hamilton; his grandchildren, Ashley, Lewis, Dakota, Julianna, Christopher, Neva, Heath, Austin and Gabe; and his great grandchildren, Isabella, Evan, Greyson, Blaize, Sophie and Levee.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home - Beeville (409 N Tyler St, Beeville, TX 78102). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1100 E Crockett St, Beeville, TX 78102). A burial was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery (9974 I-37 Frontage Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78409).
