He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Mendoza and Berta Mendoza (Guzman); his brother Ruben Mendoza; and his wife Charlotte Mendoza. He is survived by: his children, Sonora D. Serna (Charles Chacon) and Robert C. Mendoza (Diane Gutierrez); his siblings, Leovijildo Mendoza, Ramiro Mendoza, Rachel Mendoza, Loreto Mendoza and Lydia Santiago; and his grandchildren, Carlos Serna (Ashlee Romo), Lorenzo Serna (Brittany Colunga), Amber Stuart (Zach Stuart), Lauren Chacon, Sierra E. Mendoza and Jeneba Mendoza. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
