He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Cantu and Santos Cantu (Tapia); his son Randy Cantu; his grandsons, Mikel Ames and Joshua Cantu; his sister Guadalupe Reza; and his nephew Rolando Cantu.
He is survived by: his children, Jeannette Rosenbaum (Kenneth) of Rosenberg, Jessie Cantu of Beeville, Frankie Cantu (Christina) of Richmond, Albert Cantu (Yvette) of Iowa Colony and Ruben Cantu (Kim) of Sugarland; and his siblings, Sara Garcia of Alice, Amparo Garza of Sinton, Monico Cantu (Lupita) of Beeville, Adolfo Cantu (Rosie) of Beeville and Porfirio Cantu of Beeville. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
