He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose G. Cardenas and Erlinda G. Rodriguez; and his brothers, Elias, Dimas and Joventino Cardenas.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria G. Cardenas; his daughter Jenny Cardenas of Beeville; his stepchildren, Demi Martinez (Aaron) of George West, Geneiva Rodriguez of Beeville, Felisa Proctor (Thomas) of George West, Christian Gonzalez of Beeville and Genaro Briones III of Beeville; his siblings, Linda, Alberta, Fransica, Gloria, Isabel and Luis; and his grandson Mason Guadalupe Altamirano. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
