He was predeceased by: his parents, Filmore Hitchcock and Levada Hitchcock (Sims); and his parents-in-law, C. S. "Tince" and Elizabeth Welder Harris. He is survived by: his wife Sarah E. Hitchcock; his children, John Clyde Hitchcock (Tracy), James (Robert Hitchcock), Florette Elizabeth "Libby" Spires (Danny) and Sarah Jayne Welder Steffey (Ken); his brothers, Bill Hitchcock (Jo Pat) and Elbert Hitchcock; his grandchildren, William B. "Trey" Wilson III, Claire E. Wilson, Olivia A. Spires, Buck Ross Pate (Jaylon), Jayne Elizabeth Wilson, John David Wilson, Alorah D. Hitchcock, Amber L. McCune (Colton), Mackenzie L. Scott and Denni L. Hitchcock; and his great grandchildren, Avery H. Wilson, Kathleen E. Manciaz and Harper L. McCune.
