He is survived by: his children, Mary Lou Barrientes (Salvador) of Beeville, Ruth Cano of Beeville, Joe Louis Mendez (Mari) of Beeville and Mario Javier Mendez (Jessica) of Kenedy; and his brothers, Jesse Mendez of Beeville and Juan Mendez (Mary) of St. Charles, Missouri.. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
