He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton E. Hatcher and Gladys N. Hatcher (Thomas); and his siblings, James Hatcher, Milton "Buddy" Hatcher and Gladys McDonald.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna Hatcher of Beeville; and his sons, David Hatcher of Corpus Christi and Daniel Hatcher of Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
