She was predeceased by: her parents, Ignacio Vargas and Olivia Vargas (Casares); and her brother Gilbert Vargas. She is survived by: her husband Higinio Casarez of Beeville; her children, Gina Dee Henry (Matthew) of Beeville and Higinio Chris Casarez (Lora Jean) of Beeville; and her siblings, Lidia Gonzales of San Antonio and Adolfo Vargas of New Braunfels, Texas.. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
