He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurman Douglas and Ollie Etoile Douglas (Dendy); his sisters, Katherine Trimble and Juanita Crawford; his daughter Karen Lynn Douglas; his granddaughter Lisa Camille Land; his wife Zana Elizabeth Douglas; and his former wife Barbara Ann Douglas.

He is survived by: his children, Steven Ward Douglas of Avinger, Thurman Kyle Douglas (Terri) of Somerville, Dwayne Connally Strivens of Santa Ana, California, Sandra Denise Alston (Daryl) of Centerville, Doris Collette Strivens of Bedias and Danon Camille Hollinger (Larry) of Magnolia, Texas; and his caregivers, Tacie, Riley, Jimmy, Paige and Rikki. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to a local food pantry or food bank.
