He was predeceased by: his parents, P. K. Mathai (Aleyamma Mathai) and Kerala. He is survived by: his wife Molly; his children, Binoy Thomas (Rebecca Thomas) and Bijoy Thomas (Lijy Thomas); and his grandchildren, Abigail Thomas, Leah Thomas and Benjamin Thomas.
He was never satisfied with sitting still and loved to spend his time on charity work, gardening, and occasional travel.
