It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy Vernon Akins of Bedford, Texas, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon R. Akins and Yvonne Akins (Jeter). He is survived by: his wife Malta Evans Akins; his daughters, Malynn Harris (John), Melissa Rossa (Joe) and Marihelen Wieberg (Neil); his siblings-in-law, Linda and Larry Seedig; his nephews, Lyle Seedig (Julie) and Landry Seedig (Jamie); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Katelyn, Brett, Crew, Brooke, Presley and Taylor.
