He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Hanson and Claire Hanson; his former wife Oralia Hanson; his brother Norman Hanson; and his grandson Eric Hanson.

He is survived by: his wife Oralia "Rae" Dickinson; his children, Roger Hanson (Donna), Stephen Hanson (Donna) and Nancy Robinson; his grandchildren, Kimberly Babineaux (Jason), Lauren Silva (Leonard), Brian Robinson (Raquel), Stephanie Hanson and Jennifer Hanson; and his great grandchildren, Kaleigh Babineaux, Parker Babineaux, Brooke Robinson, Luke Silva and Liam Silva.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Roger's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
