He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Merrie McCord (George Chan) and John Sanford McCord, Jr.; his nephew Allen David McCord IV; his nieces, Katie Henson, Wendy Tyler and Jennie Dennis Griffith; and his cousins, Patsy Walters, Roy Norcross and Frankie Norcross.
