Everett Wayne Hartman Obituary

Everett Wayne Hartman (84) passed away peacefully at home in Bedford, TX on July 11, 2024 with his loving wife Gerry by his side. Everett was born October 21, 1939 in Leon, Oklahoma to J.W. Hartman & Opal Taliferro. He was predeceased in 2015 by his first wife and high school sweetheart of 55 years, Barbara Jane Hartman. Everett is survived by his and Barbara's sons; Everett Wayne Jr., Lynde Neal and Jason Wade; grandchildren, Neal, Callie, Michael, Sydney, Hunter, Ellena, Kiran and Sammy; 6 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Roger Brock.

He is also survived by his second wife of 4 years Gerry Cartwright-Hartman and her 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Everett's father was an ordained Southern Baptist minister and Everett himself was a member of the South Euless Baptist Church at his time of passing. Earlier in his life he was a Deacon at the Normandale Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. Everett retired after 42 years from United Stationers following an illustrious sales career. He would never let you forget how much his beloved pug Heidi meant to him and how he spent 18 amazing years with her.

Everett's favorite place to be was the Euless Senior Center where he loved to congregate with friends, his wife Gerry, and anyone who enjoyed his company. He loved going out to eat, especially for breakfast at The Kitchen. Everett doted often about his wonderful upbringing in Leon, OK and later in White Settlement, TX. He could watch Golf and Football for hours on end as long as he had his chocolate candy, salted nuts, and a cold Coca-Cola by his side. Although Everett was a lover and not a fighter, he is most remembered for being a Boxer with the Golden Gloves at Brewer High School where he graduated in 1958.

Let him tell it, he was never knocked down! Everett was a gentle and kind man and when anyone walked in the room he would greet them with "Yay Yo"! He was loved by so many and will be remembered for his endearing smile, quick wit, and heart of gold. A service to celebrate his life will be held at South Euless Baptist Church, 1000 Simmons Dr. Euless, TX 76040 on July 31, 2024 at 11:00am, officiated by Pastor Arturo Malacara.
