He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvah Sr. Mahanay and Ivy Mahanay; his wife Patricia Kiesling Mahanay; his brother Alvah Jr.; his sister-in-law Wilma Mahanay; his sister Luetta Mahanay Bull; his son-in-law Scott Worley; his mother-in-law Ruby Kiesling; and his siblings-in-law, Sonny, Barbara Bishop and Kenneth Kiesling.

He is survived by: his children, Sherri Bryson, Lisa Worley and Scott Mahanay; his grandchildren, Jeff Mahanay (Tina), Michael Dickinson (Mary), Lauren Daniel (Kyle), Whitney Newman (Scott) and Kelly Worley (Mandie); and his sisters-in-law, Lafon Higginbotham (Bill) and Carolyn Kiesling. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
