He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Everett and Imogene Burris Jones; his adoptive father Tommy Eual; his former wife Florence Diane Powell; his brother-in-law Bruce Maines; his nieces, Cassie Talu Acker and Lisa Hicks Brinkman; his nephew Dewayne Acker; his wife Diane Acker of Beckville; his children, Jason Acker (Jennifer) of Bullard, Mindy Casterline (Todd) of Beckville, Jessica Latham (Chris) of Beckville and Daniel Acker of Liberty City; his grandchildren, Candace Miller (Derek), Morgan Alvarado (Alex), Kenzy Latham, Covie Latham, Kayla Casterline, Aubrey Acker, Gage Acker and Leighton Acker; his great grandchildren, Susie and Silas Miller; and his siblings, Gary Acker (Kay) of Galloway, Tracy Acker (Kelly) of Beckville, Polly Maines of Antioch and Wendy Harsin (Mike) of Quinlan.
