He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Theresa Smith; and his wife Yvonne Smith. He is survived by: his children, Paula Baxter (Jim) and Kenneth Smith (Andi); his grandchildren, Melissa Gutierrez (Victor), Paige Talbert, Logan Talbert (Caitlin), Jimmy Baxter (Nichole), Kevin Garrett (Holly), Chance Whitmer (Kayla) and Breanna Fischer (Brodie); and his great grandchildren, Kaylee Gutierrez, Cosette Garrett, Guinevere Garrett, Easton Fischer and Isla James Baxter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home (1155 N 11th St, Beaumont, TX 77702). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
