She was predeceased by: her parents, Hettie Alma Alexander James and Frank Burnis James, Sr.; her brother Jack James (Melinda); and her son William James Douglas. She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" Douglas; her daughter Shannon Douglas Waits (Eric); her grandchildren, Carson Waits, Monet Douglas and Remy Douglas; her siblings, Frank James, Jr. (Evelyn) and Margaret Botch (Nick); and her sister-in-law Janice James. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, students, friends.
