He is survived by: his mother Ella Mae Schmidt (Richter); his wife JoAnn Schmidt (Smith); his son Trey Schmidt (Jessica); his granddaughter Bonnie Padgett; his siblings, Brad Schmidt and Cynthia Walker (Robert); and his grandchildren, Ethan, Matthew, Lane, Shyla of Kirsten, D. J. and Kayla.
