He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Eddie Carpenter and Etta Carpenter (Powledge); his siblings, Robert Eddie Carpenter and Shirley Maddix; and his niece Sherry Kay Maddix.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Carpenter (Anderson) of Groveton, Texas; his son Darrel Carpenter (Sharon) of Baytown, Texas; his grandsons, Clint Carpenter (Lyndsey) and Brent Carpenter (April); and his great grandchildren, Austin Carpenter, Baylor Carpenter and Kylie Carpenter. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
