It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susan Venegas of Baytown, Texas, born in Pasadena, Texas, who passed away on October 29, 2020, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Enrique "Henry" and Elizabeth Verastigue Mares; and her daughter Annette Michelle Venegas. She is survived by: her husband Rodolfo "Rudy" Venegas; her daughters, Renee Venegas Parrott (Damon), Maureen Venegas Cox and Ruth Naomi Venegas; her siblings, Henry Mares (Francis), Victor Mares (Diane), Mark Mares (Martha), Carlos Mares, Angie Lopez (Guadalupe) and Yolanda Bernal (Matthew); and her grandchildren, Renaldo Negron, Rudolfo Negron, Reuel Negron, Gabriel Cox, Rachel Cox, Marisa Cox and Vincent Venegas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
During the pandemic, she made over 700 masks, most which she donated to individuals.
