He was predeceased by: his wife Billie Joe Edwards; his parents, Lemuel Dyson Edwards and Susie Bell Edwards; his son-in-law Willard Derrick; and his sister Margie Milligan.
He is survived by: his children, Dysena (Buck Leavins), Peggy Derrick and Rudolph, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Diana Edwards; his grandchildren, Dane Davis, Sonja Oakley-Brown (Darryl Brown), Buck, Jr. (Shanna Leavins), Mary, Rachel Cook, Dysana (Jason Lee), Stephanie (Gene Starling) and Samantha Medrano; and his great grandchildren, Jarrod, Kasey, Marcus, Ross, Linzi, Callie, Corbin, Bella, Cierra, Mia and Emily.
