He was predeceased by: his parents, Placido Sr. Gomez and Rebecca Cavazos Gomez; and his siblings, Ernesto, Rafael, Roberto Gomez and Ernestina Garcia.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Rivas Gomez; his children, Angelica Sanabria (Gabriel), Emanuel Gomez (Peggy) and Julissa Plasencia (Jorge L.); his grandchildren, Jonathan X. Sanabria (Katelyn), Adrian Sanabria, Sasha M. Sanabria, Emanuel Gomez Jr., Brianna Gomez, Placido Eli Gomez, Jorge A. Plasencia, Emaluisa Plasencia and Julie A. Plasencia; and his sisters, Hermina Leal and Amelia Ince. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
