He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Rhodes Henderson and William Lynn Henderson; his niece Robin Abbott; and his nephew Pat Abbott. He is survived by: his sister Janie Lynn Abbott; his daughters, Lisa Anne Henderson Cahill (Bryan Cahill) of Los Angeles, CA and Rachel Elizabeth Vaughan (Jody Lee Vaughan) of Baytown, TX; his grandchildren, Regan Vaughan (Jason Drude), Keira Cahill, Jacob Vaughan, Michael Cahill and Jordan Vaughan; and his niece Lea Ann Abbott McComic. He is also survived by great-grand nieces and nephews; step-sons and their children and many special friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Baytown Humane Society.
