He is survived by: his wife Doris Howell; his son Monte Layne Howell; his stepdaughters, Becky Wade (Tim) and Krisha Gregory; his grandchildren, Krysinda Gregory Tyler (Robbie) and Joe Wade; and his brother Ken T. Howell (Linda).
