He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack H. Roberts and Katherine Powers Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Laverne Hoppe Roberts; his children, Ray Roberts (Sandy), Larry W. Roberts (Eileen), Shawn Carter (Craig Reister), Theodore "Ted" Collins, Jr., Michelle Roberts, Sheri Collins and Michael E. Roberts; his grandchildren, Damon Roberts, Jennie Roberts Mendelsohn, Shonda Cottrell Leidensdorf, Ryan Ray Roberts, Cody Carter, Aaron Roberts and Lacy Collins; his pet Daisy; and his brothers, Michael "Mike" W. Roberts (Marilyn), Kenneth "Ken" E. Roberts (Janice) and Richard "Rick" W. Roberts (Diann). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
