He was predeceased by: his parents, Louiza Peterson and James A Garfield Peterson; and his siblings, Joseph Hill, Jim Neely, Willie James Hill, Rufus Lee Peterson, Willie C Peterson, Bertha Mary Peterson, Annie Mary Jackson and Dessie Hodges.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Peterson; his children, Peggy, Johnnie Peterson Jr., Roy Peterson, Victoria Jenkins, Felecia Murray and LeTitia Smith; and his brother Walter James Hill. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
