He was predeceased by: his grandfather John Franklin Prince; his parents, James Cornelius and Lorene Prince Coffey; and his former wife Joan Baker Coffey. He is survived by: his brother Harold Coffey; his wife Karen Faulkner Coffey; his children, Jim, Jana Flynn, Keri Strickland (David), Kazen Coffey (Tina) and Kami Savell; his grandchildren, Tiffany Fish (Matthew), James Coffey III, Lawrence Lowe, Christina Contreas, Catherine Contreas, Taylor Strickland, Danielle Woods (Josh), Brandon Strickland, Morgan Coffey, Brooke Coffey, Betson Coffey, Madeline Coffey, Elizabeth Coffey, Azley Savell and Jadah Menard; and his great grandchildren, Elijah Fish, Eva Fish, Ellery Fish, Presley Jones, Grayson Jones, Naomi Woods and John Paul Woods. He is also survived by Nan and numerous nieces and nephews.
