He was predeceased by: his parents, Arturo Cortez and Carolina Cortez (Zamora); his wife Maricela Cortes; and his siblings, Arturo Cortez, Benjamin Cortez and Cynthia Bravo.
He is survived by: his children, Alejandro Cortes, George Cortes, Hector Cortes and Esmeralda Cortes; and his sisters, Janie Matamoros and Mary Quinones. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren also survived by a host of friends.
