He was predeceased by: his sisters, Lillian, Juanita and Margaret; and his wife Margaret Hans. He is survived by: his children, Richard of Katy and Deborah Barr of Cypress; his stepson Pat Greever of Dallas; his grandsons, Jonathan Hans and Christopher Barr; and his brothers, Milton of Highlands and Gordon of Beach City. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The American Heart Association or Leader Dogs for The Blind.
