He is survived by: his pet Maggie; his wife Leticia Mendez; his sons, Juan, Joel and Jose Guadalupe Mendez; and his siblings, Carmen Villanueva, Vicente Mendez, Francisca Rodriguez, Rufino Mendez, Eustolio Mendez, Aurora Perez, Maria Isabel Perez, Victor Mendez, Jesus Mendez and Enedina Huerta. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, and nieces.
