She was predeceased by: her parents, Floritta Matthew Charles and Philman Charles; her grandson Marcus James; and her son-in-law Leighton Liburd. She is survived by: her brother Jacob Charles; and her children, Rasheed Shabazz (Cindy), Ferdinand, Herbert (Barbara), Wardwell, Hoover and Patricia Liburd. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
