He was predeceased by: his parents, W. C. Carpenter and Lola Carpenter of De Queen, Arkansas.; and his son Deane Rene Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Barbara McClain Carpenter; his children, Adam Carpenter and Tammy Eschberger; his son-in-law Alan Eschberger; his grandchildren, Madeline Eschberger, Tani, Christopher Muschalek, Abby and Troy Hilferty; his great grandchild Grayson Hilferty; and his brothers, H. D. Carpenter and Ben Carpenter (Debbie).
