He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Lee and Francis Irene Tate; and his sister Beulah Newton. He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean; his sons, Joe Tate (Robert Lawson), David Tate and Kevin Tate; his grandchildren, Barrett Tate, Faryn Kinsey (Ben), Blaine Tate (Sally) and Rachel Taylor (Matt); and also Irene Arboladura. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
