He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie L. Johnson and Lessie Johnson; his siblings, Buddy, Clifton, Charles Leon, Charlene, Ruby and Ima; and his grandson Cody Pettit.

He is survived by: his wife Eileen Purdom Johnson; his children, Andrew'Andy' (Jennifer) of Baytown and Renee'Gunn Pettit (Eric Pettit) of Orlando; his grandchildren, Victoria Johnson of Mont Belvieu, Timmy Gunn of Orlando, Mikayla Gunn of Orlando and Makensie Steele of Dayton; his great grandchildren, Elaina Rose Ballard of Mont Belvieu, Brentley Wayne Logan of Dayton and Copelynn Walker Logan of Dayton; and his siblings, Charles Johnson of Lindale and Doris Irby of Mont Belvieu. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
