He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Rebecca "Nikki" Smithey of Bay City; his stepchildren, Amy Grimes of Bay City, Jonathan Varnell (Angela) of Louisiana and Eric Varnell (Sonja) of Louisiana; his grandchildren, Erica Grimes, Reese Miller, Slade Varnell, Sarah Dodd and Aiden Varnell; his aunt Christine Clark; and his uncle Gerald Smithey. He was also cherished by numerous cousins and other extended family.
