He was predeceased by: his father Gilbert Gutierrez Sr.; and his siblings, Gilbert Gutierrez Jr., Jerry Gutierrez, Alfredo Gutierrez, Delia Martinez, Amelia Martinez and Denia Garcia.

He is survived by: his wife Minerva Gutierrez; his sons, Raul "Roy" Gutierrez Jr. (Jennifer) and Robert Lee Gutierrez; his grandchildren, Rolando Jacob Gutierrez and Gabriella Zoe Gutierrez; his sisters, Mary Waggoner (Rick), Elida Trevino, Diana Reyna, Esmeralda Candelaria, Minnie Vela (Pete) and Beatrice Flores; and his sibling-in-law Oros. He is also survived by numerous nieces/nephews.
