It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phil Zarate of Bay City, Texas, who passed away on January 12, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gregorio Flores Zarate and Maria Ozuna Zarate; and his siblings, Francisco, Marcelo, Guadalupe, Julian, Carmel, Rosendo, Alonzo, Thomas Zarate, Ricarda Zarate, Amanda Zarate Gonzales, Margaret Zarate Parrado, Paula Zarate and Esperanza Zarate Villarreal.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Zarate and P. Glenn Zarate (Ana); and his siblings, George Zarate, Emilio Zarate, Joyce Cantu, Natalia Valadez and Maria Elena Escobar.
